Hello lovelies,
I think I am becoming a tape recorder by continously apologising for being missing in action. But still, I am sorry... I will do my best to post on a weekly basis. If I can't, I will post every fortnight. Thank you so much for your patience.
Without further ado, I shall be discussing about sleeping mask. The sleeping mask that I am using is called the Ecotool sleep mask.
I am a very sensitive sleeper, I wake up easily from my sleep just by the slightest sound and light. It takes roughly 10-30 minutes for me to actually fall asleep.
I wished someone told me that a sleeping mask was extremely helpful. I couldn't comprehend why would people use sleeping masks on the airplane or I see ladies using it in movies. And about 2 years ago, I discovered that having a sleeping mask really MAKES the world of a difference. It can't completely shield out the light emitted but it somehow reduces the total impact.
If you're a light sleeper like me, I recommend you to try any sleeping mask of your choice.
If I am not mistaken, I got this particular one for less than RM 25. Currently, I have three of them. The first one lasted me about a year (I shall explain why it lasted for such a short amount of time in "Pointers #3")
Why I adore it so much...
1. Very soft (made from 30% cotton and 70% bamboo)
2. Washable
I get pretty frustrated when I have a sleeping mask that is not washable.
This is because after a week of using it, your face's natural oils, dirt and bacteria would be deposited on the mask. And... that's really unhygienic.
3. For those eco-friendly people, bamboo is earth friendly as it has a low impact on the earth's resources which is a plus point.
Some pointers:
1. If possible, get a cotton or cloth sleeping mask so that you are able to wash it.
2. Wash your mask on a weekly basis. I recommend getting two of them so that you can rotate your usage.
3. Please please hand wash it. Avoid putting it into the washing machine as the elastic will loosen and it causes the mask to fall out when you're sleeping. And you don't want that, right?
The downside of this mask is that..
1. It doesn't completely block out the light like the mask made from synthetic plastic or other materials.
However I find that having a soft cotton mask is able to make up for that. I find that the plastic ones are very uncomfortable and how am I going to wash it properly if it's plastic?
Earplugs
The reason why I prefer cotton earplugs to those you get from the drugstore is because, cotton earplugs are much more softer and doesn't feel uncomfortable as the synthetic earplugs. Also, I noticed that the synthetic ones are easily ripped when you constantly use it (or maybe it's just in my case...)
Cotton earplugs are soft, comfortable and a cotton square is extremely cheap and easy to find.
And if you have a tendency to lose items quickly, cotton earplugs are easily replaced without much cost. :)
For those have sharp and sensitive hearing like me, please enjoy a mini tutorial on how to DIY cotton earplugs.
Get a cotton square
Half your cotton square
Take the half of your cotton square (the quarter) and half it again. You now have (1/8) of it.
Make two balls out of your 1/8th cotton square. :)
Viola! There you have it. I hope that you enjoyed this post and please let me know in the comments below if you have any reviews you would like me to cover. I shall see you again soon.
